1. Elimination of food production in areas polluted with toxic substances 

CLIENT: Ministry for Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry 
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The study is part of the Phare programme and consists of the following project components: toxic waste & rehabilitation of contaminated areas, study of legal & organisational instruments, soil classification for agricultural purposes, classification of contaminated land, agricultural advisory services and quality control of agricultural products. The project is executed in combination with the UK based firm ADAS

2. Project formulation for the implementation of the Water Framework Directive in Poland

3. Master plan for low level air pollution abatement, Poland 

CLIENT: Ministry of Environmental protection, Natural Resources and Forestry 
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project aims at the reduction of the emission of low-level sources, e.g. household heating and industrial enterprises with 50% on SO2 and 90% on dust. A master plan is being prepared including extension of district heating systems and waste heat recovery from power generation plants and the introduction of alternative energy generation, like solar and wind energy.

4. Agricultural waste management 

CLIENT: Foundation of Assistance programmes for Agriculture (FAPA) 
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The objective of this assignment is to prepare and supervise a programme on the reduction of pollution from agriculture in small watersheds. Advice to FAPA and the Institute for Land reclamation and Grassland Farming (IMUZ) on improved systems of agricultural water management, environmental and quality monitoring, use of fertilisers and pesticides, manure storage, rural water supply and waste water treatment, pollution control and prevention. The project resulted in the establishment of a recolving fund and the construction of 300 manure storage tanks on individual farms on the basis of a credit scheme from this fund. The project is followed up upon by a major World Bank funded project.

5. Assistance to GDSF to prepare the Phare sustainable Forestry programme 

CLIENT: National Fund for Environmental Protection 
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The objective of this assignment is to prepare a programme on improved management of Polish forests. Advice to the State Forestry Services (GDSF) on improved systems of forestry management, environmental and quality monitoring, use of fertilisers and pesticides, pollution control and prevention.

6. Assistance to National Fund for Environmental Protection 

CLIENT: National Fund for Environmental Protection 
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Project identification and appraisal, Strategic Plans and Work programmes for European Commission's Phare programmes (total amount 60 Meuro), work training to National Fund staff in project management, identification and preparation of sustainable energy projects (geo-thermal, bio-mass, photovoltaic rooftops and wind energy) and industrial waste management.
